The sound made by the chirring of cicadas is beloved by many Japanese.
Sitting quietly in meditation while surrounded by cicada song was an inspiring experience that resonated with the heart’s own singing.
And the scenery was wonderful, too – Mount Fuji to the south, and to the north, Lake Kawaguchi shimmering below us as we sat in natural harmony.
Ideally we can live in this space of harmonic fluidity until something more individualized speaks to us. Investigation of this attention grabber is then a sign whose words then become erased when the moment is fully and completely read.
